fought during the morning and early afternoon of the 22nd of January 1879 in the Anglo-Zulu War between the invading British Forces and the Zulu Army.
24 000 African soldiers overran a British camp near the Isandlwana Mountain, led by the great King Cetshwayo. This battle is recorded as the British Army’s greatest defeat in Africa. Radio Khwezi was part of the commemorations and reported on the event.
