Introducing The German Ambassador To Our Listeners

On Tuesday, 24 April Radio Khwezi had the opportunity to accompany the German ambassador

to South Africa, Dr Martin Schäfer, on a guided tour through Durban. The means of transport was an old VW combi, flashing in the colours of the German flag: black-red-gold (yellow).

In the peaceful ambience of Durban's rooftop-garden, the ambassador related to the Khwezi listeners in an interview how he became the ambassador, to which countries he has already been and what duties he has to fulfil in representing Germany. He also said that it was fascinating to watch South Africa coping with its many challenges so far; in fact, it could be an example to the whole world how different races and religions could live together in harmony if the problems are tackled and solved successfully.

Afterwards the ambassador was given a power point presentation on the development of Durban and future plans by the Architecture Department of the municipality of Ethekwini (Durban).
