Lamontville Golden Arrows Crowned 2019 Premiers Cup Champions

The KwaZulu Natal people were spoiled for choice this weekend with the KZN Premiers Cup in their midst

while there was also the Soweto derby match featuring Orlando Pirates and Kazier Chiefs competing in the 8th edition of The Carling Black Label Cup.

The large number of people though preferred to fill Princess Magogo Stadium to its rafters on Saturday to watch the 1st matches of this pre-season cup competition that were contested by 3 Premier Soccer League teams plus 4 National First Division teams namely; Lamontville Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United, AmaZulu FC, Richards Bay FC, Royal Eagles, Real Kings and UThongathi FC.

The semi-finals and finals were played at King Zwelithini Stadium in UMlazi in front of the fully packed stadium. It was the 6th edition of the tournament but Sihle Zikalala's first as the premier of the province.

Golden Arrows class and experience showed in the final beating 2 - 0 a looked fatigue Real Kings side courtesy of Romario Dlamini and Michael Gumede goals.

The office of the premier in partnership with the KZN Sports and Recreation announced that the R4 million price would be shared equal among all participated teams.
