South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod

Radio Khwezi was invited to the SASCE 2018, in Playhouse, Durban, from 31 May-2 June 2018.

All the schools achieved position one from cluster level were competing to qualify for the national level. The event took three days:

Day 1: Foundation Phase, Farm Schools, Special Schools and Intermediate Phase

Day 2: Secondary Schools, Soloist accompanied by the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra

Day 3: Secondary A and Secondary B, Only Choirs

Special Awards:

Nontobeko Bhengu of Lihlithemba High School, the School from iNdwedwe was awarded a special certificate as the Best Soloist, the Best conductor was directed to Mr. O.V. Kubheka of Zama High School from cluster B in secondary A and Ms. Z. Mthethwa from cluster D in Secondary B, Ms. C.T. Sibiya of Imizikayifani Primary School and UMkhanyakude as the best cluster (Cluster B)
