Umvoti Municipality IDP Roadshow

On 26 April 2019 the uMvoti municipality mayor Cllr TC Ngubane and his council members visited Engome area, ward 14 at the Inkosi Bhambatha Sports ground.

The aim was to give clarity on the project that the municipality is currently busy with and to address challenges they are facing.

They also donated scientific calculators to the local school, Siphakeme Combine School. Learners were encouraged to choose maths as their first choice subject.

In addition, local vendors were given resources like gas stoves, pots, fridges and vendor tents support their businesses. The municipality promised to eradicate shacks by building over 1000 houses and upgrading hostels. They also said they would electrify the entire uMvoti area by the year of 2021.
