The KwaZulu-Natal legislature was officially opened on the 27th of February by His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini at Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. Many people were pleased by the king’s speech when he called for action against climate change and gender-based violence.
On the second day, the 28th of February, the KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, delivered the State of the Province Address (SOPA) 2025, where he accounted for the work done by the 7th Administration so far. In his address, he highlighted the key achievements, challenges, and future plans to drive economic growth, job creation, infrastructure development, service delivery, and public safety in the province.
His State of the Province address focused on the economy, service delivery, crime, education, health, and the impact of climate change. Ntuli said building a capable, ethical, and transparent government is one of his key priorities.
