The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in partnership with the Department of Social Development, aims to ensure food security in the province through a comprehensive strategy that enhances social protection for vulnerable populations.
The MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Thembeni KaMadlopha-Mthethwa, joined forces with the MEC for Social Development, Ms. Mbali Shinga, to enhance social protection systems by distributing 200 food parcels as part of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) initiative.
The event took place at Valjas Sports Ground in Ladysmith under the Alfred Duma Local Municipality.
