The Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) hosted a Digital Skills Workshop in Rivonia, Sandton. This four-day training program was designed to be highly practical and interactive, with the goal of strengthening digital capabilities within community and small commercial media organizations. Through practical learning and collaborative sessions, participants acquired the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the fast-changing digital media landscape.

The first day featured welcoming remarks from MDDA CEO, Ms. Shoeshoe Qhu, and the Executive Manager for Projects, Mr. Mzuvukile Kashe. Both speakers emphasized the critical need for media organizations to acquire essential digital skills to stay relevant and competitive in the industry. Ms. Qhu made the case for innovation and capacity development, stating, "There is room and space to develop platforms, but we need the right skills. Money alone is not enough.”

Over the four-day workshop, participants received training in several key areas. These included digital strategy, content planning, social media management, and multimedia production, which encompassed podcasts, newsletters, and video. Additionally, participants learned about search engine optimization (SEO), web analytics, digital marketing and revenue models, cybersecurity, POPIA compliance, and the role of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in media innovation.

The Radio Khwezi social media team participated in a four-day workshop that began on Monday, the 16th, and concluded on the 19th. This event was held at Red Cherry in Rivonia, Sandton. The workshop took place over four consecutive days and brought together participants from both the broadcasting and print media sectors. It provided an intensive and engaging learning experience.
