The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) successfully hosted its second Economic Recovery Policy Summit, which was held in the Olive Convention Centre in Durban under the theme “Building Resilience for Sustained Inclusive Growth and Economic Transformation.”
The summit served as a platform to consolidate economic progress made in recent years, encourage knowledge sharing, and develop strategies for long-term resilience. Delegates engaged in discussions to ensure KwaZulu-Natal remains competitive in an evolving global landscape while fostering sustainable and inclusive growth.
Mr. Nhlakanipho Nkontwana (HOD for EDTEA) highlighted KZN’s remarkable recovery from challenging periods, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 social unrest, and the 2022 floods.
The strategic event brought together business leaders, policymakers, researchers, and other key stakeholders to assess the province’s economic progress and chart the way forward.
Some representatives included STATSA, SANRAL, Transnet, DTIC, TIKZN, Use-IT, SASA, and other stakeholders.
