25 years ago, on the morning of 2 September 1995, the first programme of Inkanyezi Yokusa Radio, known as Radio Khwezi, went live at 6 am. On 6 September 2020 Radio Khwezi organised a virtual thanksgiving service, which was broadcasted on the airwaves and live-streamed on audio and video channels. Most speeches and contributions had been pre-recorded because of covid-19 restrictions. Part of the programme was:
- Interview with Rev Stegen about how Radio Khwezi started
- Message from the traditional prime minister, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi
- Message by the Chairperson of the Board
- Video clips on the impact of Radio Khwezi in the community
- A pre-recorded message by a representative of the Listeners’ club of Radio Khwezi, Mr Mthembu
- A message by the Station Manager
- Messages of German pastors of the German community Khwezi works together with
- Testimonies of changed lives by Radio Khwezi
- Poems and some live family choirs.
